Physician Bios
Yvonne M. Decker, MS, ACNS-BC, CNRN
Yvonne is a Board Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health and is a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse. She earned both her BSN and MS degree from Wright State University Miami Valley School of Nursing and she has a BA from Saginaw Valley State University in Sociology. Yvonne served as a Clinical Nurse at Miami Valley Hospital and spearheaded the Stroke Program at Atrium Medical Center. Yvonne retired after 24 years of service in the Air National Guard where she functioned in the role of Chief Nursing Officer. Yvonne currently provides Palliative Care Consultant services to Kettering and Sycamore hospitals.
Mary Murphy, RN, MS, AOCN, CHPN
ary has twenty years of experience with Hospice of Dayton is Director of Clinical Systems and oversees the Focused Care and Palliative Care Program. Her clinical expertise in the field of hospice care and oncology has been recognized with state and national awards from peers in oncology nursing, the Ohio Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
Chirag Rajni Patel, M.D.
Formerly a staff hospitalist and specialist in hospice and palliative care at Dayton Veteran's Affairs Hospital, Dr. Patel is a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University. He earned his medical degree from the American University of The Caribbean, and completed residency and Chief residency with Wright State University School of Medicine. He also served as the Chief of the Medical-Surgical Clinic at Miami Valley Hospital from 2005-2006. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is board certified with the American Association of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Rana Patel, M.D.
Dr. Patel served as a staff physician in hospice and palliative care at Dayton Veteran's Affairs Hospital before joining Hospice of Dayton. She earned her medical degree at Ross University and completed a residency with the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. She is completed a fellowship with the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Hospice and Palliative Care in 2009.
Linda M. Quinlin, MS, RN, ACNS-BC, C-NP
Focused Care Cardiac Nurse Specialist A family Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist, Linda's experience encompasses cardiac and oncology specialties. She has served as a clinical nurse at Good Samaritan and Miami Valley Hospitals, earning recognition at both facilities for excellence in nursing. Linda currently spearheads the Palliative Care Consultants services at The Atrium Medical Center.
Anne Reddy. M.D.
Dr. Reddy is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice and is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Care. She received her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati in 1984. She has a private family medicine practice in Huber Heights, Huber Heights Family Practice. In addition, she has been practicing Hospice and Palliative Medicine since 2002. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Wendy Schmitz, M.D.
Dr. Schmitz is board certified in Internal Medicine and completed medical training at the Medical School of Loma Linda University, Loma Linda, California. She previously served as a hospitalist with South Dayton Acute Care Consultants at Miami Valley Hospital, and has also served as medical director of sub-acute care units with Arbors of Dayton Long Term Care, Carriage by the Lake Nursing Home, and Hickory Creek Nursing Home. Dr. Schmitz served her residency at Kettering Medical Center.
Jules Sherman, D.O., F.A.C.O.I.
An oncology specialist, Dr. Sherman is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology as well as Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists. He is a past President of the Dayton District Academy of Osteopathic Medicine.
Ruth Thomson, D.O., Medical Director
Dr. Thomson is a graduate of the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association.
